About Me

Yes, time to give you an update with what is happening with me. I am getting along great, physically, and by that I mean, my new heart has been doing a good job. They told me after the transplant that it was a perfect match. I thought I was "one of a kind". Anyway, at my last biopsy visit in April, I had done my x-ray, echo, and while waiting for them to come take me to do my biopsy, the doctor came in and said "we are not going to do any more biopsy's on you, we only do the Alomap bloodwork." I was so excited.

The Alomap bloodwork had been done in coordination with my biopsy for a long time and if their readings are the same results, they do not perform the biopsy any more because they can get the same results just from the lab work. SO, after two and a half years out, I am free of the biopsy. I am on very little medication for the heart rejection. And will be forever, I guess. BUT I am so happy that God has seen fit to leave me here a little longer and with the quality of life that I have. God is an awsome God! ! !

So, with this update, I want to thank all of you for your prayers and kind words. I love every one of you and if you see me anywhere, stop me and talk.

I love you!

Do you think Winter will ever be over? Again this morning, March 28th, two inches of snow on everything. And I understand that in the morning it will be the same surprise....but I already know, SO, I won't be shocked. The park will need a lot more attention this spring because of all the rain with it washing roads and the grass will probably get a good headstart on growing before we can get in with the mowing machines. Some repairs will need to be done, but that is always the case. I believe that some time in late April, a group is going to schedule a "work day". We will try to put the word out and if you want to join us, come on. I am now trying to get out our flyers. If you can place some out, call me and I will send you some to do just that. It is always a big help when our musicians and friends take an interest. We would also like to ask that you encourage the younger musicians to join us. We need to expand our crowds and bring them in to join us. That is how we are going to pass our heritage of the old'time bluegrass music on. I do appreciate all the bands and musicians that participate in the jam groups around the park. It makes things much more festive. I want to mention to you that Mona is hoping to have the DVD out by Memorial Day of the history of the park and all it's interviews with the musicians, DJ's, associations involved with its preservation. We are hoping it will be ready and packaged for the festival. Be sure to get yours. Looking forward to seeing you in about eight weeks. It is going to be another great festival year. May the Good Lord Bless you and yours, Bessie Reeder

2011 and Still going!

February 2011

Y E S there will be two festivals this year. The flyers are out, the bands ready to come perform for you and we have a teriffic line-up. Our headliner is the Next Best Thing. Help us reach the younger Bluegrass fans. We need to pass our heritage on. We have a lot of history here at our park. It began in 1968 and this year we will celebrate our 43rd Labor Day Festival. The Memorial Day Festival came along in the 1980's, and we celebrate our 30th this year.

The park gets more beautiful each year. Love these Ozarks, so peaceful and awsome. We have been open all year round with our camping and there are a few that find out we are open. It is good to have someone in and out. The snow has been a beautiful sight, also. Never seen so much in my whole life.

So come support us at the festivals and bring someone with you that you think might have a good time. I meet lots of people that say they love the music. It is just what we grew up with and you won't hear it anywhere else.

NOW to talk about my grandkids. They have moved to Texas as of this past December. I am having withdrawals. Tyler is 7 and enjoying his 1st grade. Austin will soon turn 4 in July and will start pre-school in the fall. Collin will be 2 in March and he is the "boss". Danny and Crystal have a beautiful team of boys. My Daddy had three girls and he would always say "all my boys is girls." Crystal says that's OK, girls take a lot of time and she is used to boys.

So, until next time....stay happy, healthy and May God richly bless you.
Because He Lives, I will live,
